321 people have signed the petition so far many from Kiltimagh and surroundings. Thank you for being one of the many expressing your view. People need to understand the importance of this issue. If the velorail project goes ahead without a cycling and walking trail alongside it, the result will be that a private company will control the entire disused rail alignment around Kiltimagh for 12 years at least, and longer if they decide to extend the lease after that. Access to this publicly owned property will be at their discretion, and only guaranteed to their paying customers. The opportunity to give all local people access to a place where they can walk and cycle in safety will be lost. Just look at the photo on our petition page, isn't this what you want to see? Start contacting your local politicians directly and demand equal treatment with more favoured towns; For example ask Michael Ring if Westport people should be charged to use their greenway? Ask Dara Calleary why he never comments on this issue? or Lisa Chambers why she is silent? Don't people in Kiltimagh and surroundings deserve to be treated the same as Westport? Worth thinking about.
