The problem I want to solve is a legislative change in retail grooming policy.  The industry is policing itself and they need to realize that the public will not sit idly by while they profit at the expense of our pets suffering.  Hold Petco accountable so they don't KILL the spirit of any more animals and before they actually cause the death of someone's family member. MY EXPERIENCE: My dog Nikko, a half maltese & have poodle mix, was taken to Petco for grooming but instead was shaved to his skin, abused, contracted the worst staph infection my veterinarian has ever seen, and altered his personality. I got Nikko for my now 9 yr old daughter 2 yrs ago. He is a part of our family and we are heart broken at the impact that Petco has had on him and their lack of accountability. They have such a lackadaisical policy on groomers that Nikko was left alone to be tortured & abused by a groomer who had literally completed an inept program for grooming the day before. She was berated by another customer for a mortifying grooming job only minutes before I arrived and yet they allowed her to continue and do even greater damage by killing the spirit of a carefree maltipoo as well as giving him a staph infection so severe we worried about him dying. He is a different dog from the carefree, loving, and fun dog that has been a member of our family for the last two years. Petco acts and operates like the cold calculating corporate profit machine that it is and only a focus and determined majority can force them and others like them to change. #dontletpetcokillourpets
