A few months ago i bought a “male” guinea pig from petco and we were so happy with “him” so we got another male guinea pig a few months later. We were so happy with how they were bonded. We then found out about a local rescue that does health checks, so we brought them over to both get one. We then find out that not only do both guinea pigs have ringworm, but our older “male” guinea pig is actually a female and pregnant! We love them so much but we’re not expecting to take on that big of a responsibility! We then learned that this happens so frequently to so many people. It’s truly upsetting to hear the horror stories that people experience. I would like to stop the selling of guinea pigs and other small animals at pet stores. They don’t have the knowledge that they should have about these amazing animals. Please if you can take a moment to help me with this problem that more people should be aware of, that would be great! And please remember to ADOPT DONT SHOP!!
