Bunny Rabbits (and Baby Chickens) sold leading up to and on Easter have a very slim chance of survival. They are bought for young children who frequently injure them, and then are almost always killed or abandoned within 1 year of their lives. Owners sometimes "release" them into the wild, where they die 100% of the time. Animal Shelters see a huge increase in rabbits in the weeks and months after Easter.
Pet Stores should NOT sell rabbits (Or Chickens) in the weeks leading up to Easter to help prevent this from happening. If Pet Stores care about Rabbits or Chicks, they will stop selling them around Easter.
My goal is 500,000 signatures by next Easter. As more signatures come in I'll present the petition to various local pet stores and I encourage all signers to do the same for their local pet-stores.
