If you're a pet lover, the Humane Educational Society needs our help. When they moved to a new building, it was assumed that their non-profit status moved with them. An easy assumption, but not the case in Hamilton Co. Because of this oversight, HES owes $530,000 in taxes. The county says it cannot defer or cancel the debt. In addition, the county, is “hesitant” to help noting “it's uncertain whether they'll vote next week to approve $250,000 in emergency funding.”  Please note: I am not collecting money for this.
