There are millions of families in the UK who have pets, the majority of these families have pet insurance, which is always a good idea as we never know what might happen to our furry friends.

Each year on renewal the price goes up, taking into account many factors, 2 of them being the age & breed of your pet. So those of us who have pets & insurance know that it will go up, hopefully not by much especially with all the recent & ongoing price hikes.

I woke up at the weekend & had an email from my dogs insurance company advising that it was due for renewal in April & below that they told me what the new amount would be from 23rd April.  I  won't say what words came out of my mouth when I read it but I'm sure you can guess, it is going from £140 to £252 A MONTH!!!!   I know, I'm still in shock now trust me. 

 So I have a 6 year old Frenchie, have been with this insurance company since he was a puppy and have NEVER claimed, not even for the adhoc things he's been take to the vets for, I just paid the vet.  So my loyalty to them is to increase his policy by 80%.  How on earth do they expect people to pay this ridiculous amount of money?!?!

I  called them today, had to take a few days to calm down & whilst I was very polite to the person I spoke with, who is only doing his job so doesn't deserve to get the brunt of my wrath, I made it perfectly clear that I would not be renewing with them, that I thought they were just being greedy & posed to them about how they expect people to pay it.  I then went on to say that it's because of companies like them, with their greed, that will be responsible for many families having to put their pets into rescue centres as they can't afford to pay their stupid prices.

I was told at this point that another factor they took into consideration was the cost of living crisis at the moment, yet they are adding to it, unbelievable.

I believe that the government should put a % increase cap on pet insurance.  If you are in agreement with me I would be very grateful if you would sign this petition & I thank you for your support.
