The warmer weather is well and truly here, but as many of you noticed, the pet friendly drinking fountain for Robert Haigh Reserve isn't! So yesterday I contacted the City of Charles Sturt (again), with my 'not happy Jan' voice.

They must have known because I can't tell you how excited I was to receive the following communication today:

"the two drinking fountains were installed yesterday. We are just waiting on the dog bowls to be delivered and installed, hopefully by next week, however they are functional and there is a temporary bowl at the fountain near the hockey club room"

I am so pleased and excited! Thank you to everyone who signed the petition and helped make it happen! Without you, my singular voice would have gone unnoticed.

Thank you to Council for listening and supporting their local community. I know that all recreational and sports users, dog walkers and most of all, the Dogs of Robert Haigh Reserve, are truly appreciative.

I sort of feel we need to do an official opening and crack a bottle of (non-alcoholic) Champagne on the water fountain(s). But in the interest of (glass) safety and drink walking/driving, please feel free to crack Champagne (or beverage of choice ... water maybe) in your own lounge rooms. I know I will be.

Again, and finally from me ...
