I have been communicating again with the very helpful 'Open Space Planner' at the City of Charles Sturt this week. And I'm so excited to announce that Council have advised:

"we are aiming for installation ... [of the new drinking fountain] ... in the next 3-4 weeks, ideally before Christmas" 

That is amazing! The dog walkers, fitness buffs, sports people, drone drivers and gatherers of the Robert Haigh Reserve will have a water fountain for the coming summer months! ... and beyond.

I personally am so appreciative that, following the many community signatures on the petition, the City of Charles has decided to fast-track the project!

But I'd like to extend my biggest thanks to all of you who got behind this little old but much-needed pet-friendly drinking fountain for Robert Haigh Reserve and signed the petition. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I almost feel like we need to crack a bottle of champagne over the new fountain, but I wouldn't want to waste the champagne.
