PERUVIAN BEARS-THEY NEED TO BE SAVED AND TAKEN TO THE "OSO DE ANTEOJOS SANCTUARY" IN PERU

The Issue

ANDEAN BEARS A K A "Oso De Anteojos"

by Lars Ole Mortensen

PERU HAS A ZOO WITH ANDEAN BEARS IN THEIR ENCLOSURES. THEY ARE IN POOR CONDITION. THEY NEED TO BE TAKEN TO THE PRESERVE SET UP FOR THE CARE AND PRESERVATION OF THE BEAR...

There was a survey ten years ago, to find out what the last remaining population of the South American spectacled  bears in the wild were- (18,250). The population is mostly concentrated in the forests of Perú , Bolivia , Colombia , Ecuador and Venezuela . Most of the population is in Peru and along the interior borders in the Bolivian forests.

The Speckled Bear, or what the Peruvians call "Oso De Anteojos", because of the round white fur circles around their eyes which look like eyeglasses, has been hunted by the natives in the forests, thinking they were considered a danger. In  several forested areas it was believed that the speckled bear's claw had medicinal characteristics. The bear, in nearly all the tribes of the Americas have considered the bear a totem animal.

In Peru, the bear has an ecological park named Oso De Anteojos En El Parque Nacional De Cutervo-Translation in English the bear is called the Perú Eyeglass Bear in the Cutervo National Park in Eastern Peru

I believe people should support the great efforts of The Bear Eye Conservation Project, which is a private company that owns the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, in conjunction with the British foundation Bear Rescue , which supports the project and the National Institute of Natural Resources

Let us hope that this institute takes the zoological bears out of Lima Zoo and takes to the preserve that are set up for the protection of the bear...Please go visit the Lima Zoo for yourselves...the bears are in very bad health. ..I visited not too long ago...and was horrified the conditions...

THERE ARE SO MANY BEARS IN CIrcuses, ZOOS AND FAIR PARKS IN ASIA AND IN THE AMERICAS WHERE THE BEARS ARE EXHIBITED IN POOR CONDITIONS. I HAVE WITNESSED THE ZOOS PERSONALLY...I ALSO WANT PEOPLE TO BE AWARE OF THE LOSS OF MARINE SPECIES THROUGHOUT OUR OCEANS. PLEASE SUPPORT MY CAUSE, OUR CAUSE. I AM LOOKING FOR AN ORGANIZATION WHO WOULD HIRE ME TO HELP IN THESE CAUSES.
