There is a lake near Perungalathur bus stand which is totally spoiled. Wastes are being dumped there and drainage water is discharged into it. Not alone there, you can see plastic covers, bottles and wastes littered everywhere. The area looks unpleasant. All these provide breeding ground for the spread of mosquitoes and other germs. It may lead to the outbreak of some diseases. The area has turned into a small hell. There is foul smell all around coming out from the rubbish and dirty drains. We can't breathe in fresh air in such an area. There are many schools and colleges nearby. People are getting affected. A lot of groups and people are doing everything they can to raise awareness about the importance of a clean environment and to make the environment healthier. Unfortunately, it just isn't enough. The only way we are going to achieve a clean environment is if everyone works together to take care of our planet. We the students, have the responsibility to bring a change. We need a clean environment so we can live healthy lives and leave future generations a healthy Earth. Clean area also adds beauty. There are large areas of empty lands with wastes littered. They could be cleaned and in turn plant trees in that place or build a park for the neighbours to relax. Since many colleges and schools are located nearby, pollution is caused by the transports. Planting trees would be beneficial since they absorb the polluted air and produces fresh air. If appropriate measures are taken to clean the lake, the water can be used for good purpose. Poor and innocent people residing near the lake make use of this dirty water, which is polluted with chemicals due to the dumping of polythene covers etc,

"Cleanliness is next to godliness ".

For instance, the importance of keeping a uniform nice and neat is an important task that can easily identify a soldier of what he or she is capable of. It shows the soldier being capable of doing things without being told, having being responsible, or is just able to conduct personal hygiene. 

Each and every action we do has an impact on our Country. Jai Hind !
