Selama ini, Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia dan Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam hanya menfokuskan laluan kerjaya kepada doktor perubatan, doktor pergigian dan farmasi, tiga profesion ini naik pangkat dengan time-based, manakala profession kesihatan yang lain sering diabaikan.

Ramai ahli fisioterapi yang dah kerja berpuluh-puluh tahun sukar dapat naik pangkat disebab oleh post-post yang sangat terhad. Fisioterapis yang berkelayak sarjana muda juga sukar mendapat jawatan yang bertanding dengan kelayakan akademiknya, ini adalah perkara yang amat sedih, dan akan mengakibatkan servis kesihatan kepada rakyat Malaysia ini lemah berbanding dengan negara-negara yang maju, seperti di Amerika Syarikat, United Kingdom yang mempunyai autonomy dalam medikal sistem negara mereka.

Seorang ahli fisioterapi perlu berkhidmat selama 10 tahun sahaja boleh memohon untuk menaik taraf jawatan kerjanya kepada U32, dan ini tidak disahkan kerana jawatan kerja yang terhad; jika dia tidak memohon U32 bermakna dia perlu menunggu sehingga 13 tahun perkhidmatan baru boleh mendapatkan jawatan kerja KUP U32. Oleh sebab jawatan kerja yang terhad untuk U41 (di seluruh negara hanya mempunyai 5-10 jawatan kerja yang dibuka untuk permohonan), jika ahli fisioterapi itu mempunyai ijazah sarjana muda, ia tidak akan menawarkan jawatan kerja U41 untuknya. Jika dia berhasrat untuk mendapatkan jawatan itu, dia perlu memohon temu duga dan bersaing dengan orang luar. Ini benar-benar laluan kerjaya pekerjaan yang tidak adil.

Kami berharap kerajaan melihat isu ini dan menambahbaikan isu ini dengan sempurna dengan memberi gred yang setimpal kelayakan akademik Fisioterapis.

Cadangan:

1. Sila menwujudkan lebih banyak jawatan kerja U41 untuk ahli fisioterapi dalam U29/U32 dengan ijazah sarjana muda untuk mereka naik pangkat secara automatik.

 2. Sila mempertingkatkan kelayakan kemasukan ahli fisioterapi memasuki kerajaan, bukan peringkat diploma, tetapi kelayakan ijazah sarjana muda secara  wajib.

As to time, the Ministry of Health Malaysia and the Public Service Commission Malaysia has only focused on career paths for medical doctors, dentists, and pharmacists, these three professions are promoted on a time-based basis, while other healthcare professions are often neglected.

Many physiotherapists who have been working for decades have a hard time getting promoted due to very limited posts. Physiotherapists with a bachelor's degree also find it difficult to get a position that competes with their academic qualifications, this is a very sad thing, and will result in poor health services for Malaysians compared to developed countries, such as in the United States, the United Kingdom who have autonomy in their country's medical system.

A physiotherapist who has to service for 10 years only can apply to upgrade his job post to U32, and this is not confirmed due to limited job post; if he does not apply for U32 meaning that he has to wait till 13 years of service only can get KUP U32 job post. Due to the limited number of job posts for U41 (nationwide only have 5-10 job posts open for application), if that physiotherapist has a bachelor's degree, it won't straightly offer the U41 job post for him. If he intended to get the job post, he has to apply for the interview and compete with the outsiders. This is really an unfair job career pathway.

We hope the government looks at this issue and improves this issue perfectly by giving a grade commensurate with the academic qualifications of Physiotherapists.

Suggestions:

1. Please create more U41 job posts for the physiotherapists who are in U29/U32 with bachelor degree for them to automatically upgrade their pangkat.

 2. Please increase the entry level of physiotherapists entering the government, not the diploma level, but compulsory bachelor's degree qualification.
