The Issue

As a retired military member, the USO lounge at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) has been an invaluable resource for my family and me. We've relied on this space to ease the stress of air travel. Traveling can be a daunting experience, especially when accompanied by young children, or for young military members journeying alone for the first time. The USO lounge provides a sanctuary – a place to relax, regroup, and find comfort amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport.

The recent decision by the USO to close this lounge impacts not only my family but thousands of other military members and their loved ones who pass through CVG. For many of them, this lounge is a small but significant token of appreciation for their service, offering a bit of home as they travel across the country or world.

USO lounges have a long history of supporting military communities, providing a sense of belonging and comfort in what can often be a lonely and stressful transition. Whether it's offering a warm meal, a quiet space, or merely the presence of a friendly face, these lounges hold immense value for those who serve and their families.

Closing the CVG lounge is a disservice to the military community. It is essential for us to remind the USO of the vital role these lounges play. We must call upon the USO leadership to reverse their decision and maintain this critical support structure at CVG. With your signatures, we can make our voices heard and hope to ensure that military families continue to have a place of respite and camaraderie.

Please sign this petition to urge the USO to reconsider and keep the CVG lounge open, ensuring it continues to provide comfort and support to those who serve our nation.
