I am a student in Abingdon, VA, USA and I am thirsty. This is not a metaphorical thirst for knowledge - it's a physical one. Our current school policy restricts students from visiting the water fountain except during lunch breaks and after school. This policy negatively impacts our hydration levels, which are crucial for maintaining focus and overall health.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), proper hydration can improve cognitive function in children and adolescents, aiding their learning process significantly. Moreover, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that children aged 6-19 years should consume approximately six to eight cups of water per day.

Our request is simple but essential: Allow regular water fountain visits in schools throughout the day. By doing so, we can ensure that all students have access to clean drinking water whenever they need it - not just when it's convenient for the school schedule.
