My journey to advocate for pigeon-friendly policies has been a rewarding one, filled with challenges, triumphs, and above all, a deep sense of purpose. As I look towards the future, I am hopeful that our efforts will continue to pave the way for a more inclusive and compassionate city for all creatures, big and small. After all, in a world filled with chaos and division, perhaps it's time we learn a thing or two from our feathered friends about coexistence and community.

Pigeons are an integral part of our urban ecosystem. They play an important role in controlling insects and pests while also contributing to biodiversity. In fact according to the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF), pigeons help maintain balance within urban ecosystems by consuming waste food thereby reducing potential sources of disease transmission.

Despite these benefits they bring to our cities however; many properties across Abbotsford have restrictions against keeping pigeons. This not only deprives us of their company but also hinders their contribution towards maintaining ecological balance.

We believe that it is time for this policy to change. We call on property owners across Abbotsford as well as local authorities to reconsider these restrictions against pigeons. Let's make Abbotsford a place where every creature - big or small - feels welcome.
