Permit Dogs on Transperth!!

The issue

For some of us in Perth, WA, Australia, our dogs are more than just pets; they are family. However, the current regulations prevent us from taking our furry friends on Transperth public transport. This is particularly challenging for those who live far away from dog-friendly areas such as dog beaches and do not have a driver's license.

In many cities around the world, dogs are allowed on public transport with certain restrictions to ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers. For example, in London and New York City, dogs can travel on public transport if they are properly restrained or carried in a suitable container (source: respective city transportation policies).

Allowing dogs on Transperth would not only benefit dog owners but also contribute to a more inclusive community that values its four-legged members. It would also encourage more people to use public transport instead of private vehicles which could help reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions.

We urge the relevant authorities to reconsider their stance and allow access for dogs on Transperth services under reasonable conditions such as size restrictions or off-peak travel times.

Please sign this petition if you believe that our canine companions should be allowed to accompany us during our daily commutes. Your support can make a difference!
