Permanently remove the four wolf-hybrid dogs who killed three pets in McMinnville.

The Issue

I, along with many residents of McMinnville, have beloved pets or small children, and we live with the unnerving and nightmarish fear of them being viciously maimed or killed by roaming dog-wolf hybrids. These dogs have sadly killed three cherished pets, following their escape from a residential yard. Multiple incidents like these have emphasized that the owner of these hybrids is unable to contain or train these animals effectively. Consequently, we, the people of McMinnville, feel threatened and disturbed. Our daily walks in the neighborhood with our pets or small children have become terrifying because of the unpredictable nature of these dogs.

For the safety of our community, we urge authorities to enact stronger legislation to prevent such incidents, like not returning these dangerous hybrids to environments where they cannot be suitably controlled. It is known that wolf hybrids can be unpredictable and challenging to handle because of their wild instincts. A 2000 report by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mentions that unrestrained dogs in populated areas contribute to about 30% of dog bite-related fatalities. This statistic underlines the vital importance of our plea. We are calling on our local government to review this issue urgently, and implement stronger regulations for the containment and handling of such hybrids in residential areas.

Let's band together for the sake of the safety of our cherished pets and loved ones. Please sign this petition to enact change and ensure the security of our community.
