Portia Holmes Shields has consistently broken university procedures and created an atmosphere of intimidation on the Tennessee State University (TSU) campus.

Examples:
• Removing 2 Student Government Association officers from office in violation of procedures and due process.
• Breaking the law by breaking the Whistleblowers Protection Act by having the Faculty Senate Chair arrested in retaliation for publicly reporting that the administration changed 270 Incomplete's to final grades without students completing the work. This grade change was severely criticized in a report by the State Education Sub-Committee after a Legislative hearing into the matter.
• Failing to consult with faculty and students in any significant way before elimination of academic programs.

Thus for hindering TSU from reaching the excellence that it possesses to serve students and taxpayers, we are asking for the immediate removal of Interim President Portia Holmes Shields.
