Periods for All: Free Menstrual Products in Public Restrooms

Periods for All: Free Menstrual Products in Public Restrooms
The Issue
Period poverty is the lack of access to menstrual products and sanitation facilities due to financial, social, or political barriers. This affects people's health, education, work, and dignity everyday.
Statement:
Everyone deserves access to menstrual products. No one should have to miss school, work, or daily life because they can't afford them.
We demand that all public restrooms, including schools, libraries, community centres, and other public spaces provide free menstrual products for anyone who needs them.
Why This Matters
- In Canada, 17% of people who menstruate has experienced period poverty
- Period poverty can cause students and workers to miss school or work, leading them to fall behind academically or professionally
- Lack of access to menstrual products can lead to health issues, including infections
- Free menstrual products should be accessible to everyone who needs them, regardless of age, gender, or background
- Period equity is a basic human right, essential for equality, health, and participation in daily life
Why This is Beneficial
- Improves health: Having access to proper menstrual products prevents infections and other health issues
- Reduces stigma: Normalizing access to products removes the stigma around periods
- Promotes equality: Everyone who menstruates will be able to participate in daily activities
- Supports education and work: Students and workers can attend school and work without missing days
Every day that passes, people are going without the products they need — we can change that today. Sign this petition to support menstrual equity across Canada!
