Bring Back the Old PEPSI Globe
The Issue
For over eight years, PEPSICO. has been trying to utilize a "new" identity by altering their own historical icon, the PEPSI Globe. Since 1950, the PEPSI Globe has become one of the most beloved shapes, and is one of the biggest American icons. However, under new leadership (and "brighter" goals) PEPSICO. believed that it was time to re-brand their staple cola, and finally did so in 2008.
With the once Nearly 60 year-old logo being redesigned to resemble a "smile," the current PEPSI Globe has been met with mixed to negative reception among consumers. Eight years have passed since PEPSICO. changed their PEPSI Globe, and I've had enough time looking at the new logo. IF PEPSICO. redesigns the PEPSI Globe back to its previous form, future generations will be able to see what their previous generation saw: A great soda, and an even greater logo.
