Stop these stupid online petitions. Most of em are useless.

The Issue

Our generation is literally dumbing down. No, I'm not talking about the popularity of stupid pop music or mindless trends...Here we're talking about online petitions. People lull themselves into a false state of satisfaction (for just a click on a button on some website) and then feel good for the same thinking that they've contributed for a cause. Come on you people. Want to protest? Go to the ground zero and contribute. Take on the streets...But that's too inconvenient isn't it? "I guess I'll just take the easy way out and just click on a button instead.  Sounds so convenient"

If slacktivism is measured only by gaining awareness of a cause, then I suppose there is a place for it, but a cause needs more than just awareness. In and of itself, it is not enough. We need to be realistic about what is going to create advocacy and long-term support.

Now, as we all already know , petitions are useless .But, I hope this one actually proves to be the first one that ever actually worked.
