Dear supporters,
Firstly a HUGE thank you once again to each an everyone of you that has signed and shared this petition.
We are very excited here at the New Wrecking Crew HQ (self titled!) to let you know that the inquiry has concluded and the council has ruled in our favour - to deny the appeal by current owner Mr Sam Denciger - and uphold the original enforcement order to protect the pub!
We couldn't be happier with the result, you can read the full findings of the case here - link to documents.
It is important to note that this petition, the facebook group and support from everyone behind the scenes has been hugely impactful in letting the council and Mr Denciger know that the community wish to save the pub and was even mentioned in the report - "the response this appeal has had ... from local people represented at the Inquiry who have an undisputed desire to investigate the possibilities of a community pub and do not want the community asset to be lost."

The owner has been ordered to restore the downstairs space to a pub, along with changes made to the floors above - sadly they cannot make him replace the original wooden bar - but it is definitely a move in the right direction.
For next steps we will hand over to Michelle and Curran at The Antelope Pub E10 Community Interest Group (please join the Facebook group) who were integral in representing the views of local people at the inquiry, we salute you! -
