We're a youth initiative of Amity International School, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi working towards minimising the use of plastic while efficiently utilising plastic already in circulation.

Since decades, we, people, have been fighting against the use of plastic and ironically we are the ones who have been exploiting it. Years of campaigns against the use of plastic just came and went by, leaving a minimal impact on our society. We all know the harmful effects of plastics on our environment, what all it can do and yet we have no intent of stopping the use of them, and that is Why...?

Whatever the reason it was, but now the time has come to actually stand against it and literally stop the use of plastic.

We have started an initiative known as Plas-untick, which focuses on working towards minimising the use of plastic while efficiently utilising plastic already in circulation and wants to bring about an actual change in our society for a sustainable future.

We want people to be aware of their surroundings, stop the usage of plastic bags in and around their neighbourhood along with the markets in which they shop. We recommend people to replace those plastic bags with the eco-friendly alternatives such as cloth bags, jute bags and even paper bags.

We demand all the shopkeepers and vendors to halt their usage of plastic bags and also encourage their customers to bring their own bags, but certainly not plastic bags.

We also want the Government, both at the Central and State level to formulate laws which are specifically aimed at resolving this grave issue, not of banning plastic but restricting or limiting its use. Just formulating such laws won't be enough but it's implementation should also be up to the mark to actually succeed in our motive.
