There are 196 countries in the world as of 2015, and yet, only 18 of them have approved the freedom to marry for same-sex couples nationwide (Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Iceland, Argentina, Denmark, France, Brazil, Uruguay, New Zealand, Britain, Luxembourg and Finland). That's only 9% - meaning that for 91% of the world's citizens, not everyone is legally allowed to marry the person that they love.
