In a few days the developer will be demolishing the houses on this site and following that will proceed to obliterate the urban forest along with the wildlife. Take a look at the aerial view of this site as it stands today.  

Who should be able to make this kind of decision?  If you are of a mind that this should not be happening register your opinion.
