What is happening at Frognal today could be your neighborhood next.

The neighborhood has been fighting this since 2005. It’s literally been up and down the curtain a few times to include the Washington State Supreme Court.  Now it appears the developer is proceeding full bore ahead WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING A SANITARY SEWER PERMIT FROM ALDERWOOD WATER AND WASTEWATER DISTRICT (AWWD). The neighbors have argued that granting a sewer permit on the project is contraindicated because the sewer line will be installed on a steep, landslide prone slope directly above another neighborhood. 

If the sewer district does not grant the permit, the project can’t continue. In the meantime, the developer is cutting down the remaining trees and preparing the site for construction as usual. The county has issued permits for this purpose despite no sewer permit!  Is this the cart before the horse?  Here are a few pictures of what’s happening there.  The county is our neighborhood.
