Right now, developers can demolish houses on property to be developed even before their permits are approved. If a person was to appeal a project, they are not allowed on the property to verify the developer’s reports and PDS does not often verify the developer’s reports.
We should get as many people as possible to lobby to County Council to:
Enact an ordinance prohibiting all land disturbing activities, including building demolition, until all appeal are exhausted and the LDA permit is issued;
For projects under appeal, the Appellants should be allowed reasonable right of entry onto the property to verify the developer’s consultant’s reports. The way it is now, only one side gets to provide their findings that PDS blindly accepts and we are prohibited from doing any independent on site investigations
