A man who believes hair dryers cure coronavirus, is unable to use proper capitalization in sentences, and who spews hatred and ignorance towards anyone who disagrees with his stances should not be in a position of power. 

Mr. Culpepper has consistently engaged in publicly promoting sexist, racist, and homophobic views via Facebook for years. Forget the issues for a moment, Trump v. Biden, Republican v. Democrat, pro-choice v. pro-life, 2nd amendment rights etc.  We can all agree to disagree.  However, when a commissioner promotes hate and ignorance unabashedly in a public forum it demonstrates a level of incompetence that should not be tolerated. 

Mr. Culpepper has made the following comments on his Facebook newsfeed (I will type them with correct punctuation): "Poor slaves making millions playing baseball, football, basketball, actors, we are the new slaves. The difference is I want to see all Americans of color or race succeed."

Mr. Culpepper has posted a meme of President Barack Obama and lion.  The photo with the lion has the title "African Lion" and the photo of Obama has the title "Lyin' African". 

Mr. Culpepper has also mused on his Facebook in response to a woman who stated "Funny we don't consider n*****s a threat" and stated: "The thing that has always puzzled me is that Black Americans call each other the N-word all of the time and they laugh like crazy but if a white American uses that word ----OMG.  Why is that."

Mr. Culpepper has complained that "we live in a society where homosexuals lecture on morals", posted a photograph of love bugs mating and made the comparison to said photograph to "Mayor 'Butt'gig' and his husband". 

Mr. Culpepper has stated that "Ocasio could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. She could suck start a Harley Davidson. Wet her lips and stick her to the ceiling".  And reposted a meme with Mr. and Mrs. Trump stating that "It's nice to have a President with balls and a 1st lady who doesn't."

These examples are only a small snippet of all the racist, misogynistic, homophobic, and frankly perverse things Mr. Culpepper has on his personal Facebook. (And of course let's not forget the hairdryer incident.)

Ultimately, removal of a commissioner requires the intervention of the Governor.  But that doesn't mean the people are powerless for the next 2 years.  The goal is to get enough signatures to demonstrate that residents and friends of residents of Okeechobee county are fed up with this lack of leadership from Mr. Culpepper and request that the other commissioners of the County issue a public rebuke of Mr. Culpepper's antics and request that the Governor intervene in his removal.
