Keonjhar and Banei area of Odisha is producing nearly 160 million tone iron ores per annum. Whereas as per study of NEERI, an institute under Government of India has given reports that the maximum capacity of load bearing of the area is 147 million tone. As a result the area is undergoing through a tremendous environmental hazard resulting huge damage to flora and fauna. It is causing health hazards as the water, air and environment has been polluted endlessly. There is no need of further auction of iron ores. Notwithstanding to this Govt of Odisha has plan to auction of more 14 Iron ore mines. It will again destroy the already fragile ecological balance as the proposed auction of mines will lead to cutting of more nine lakh trees. This will lead to irreparable damage of the environment which is completely irreversible and can cause environmental disaster. We the people of Keonjhar protest against the decision of state govt. of Odisha to auction more 14 iron ore mines. Pledge your support.
