While the people of Malaysia are demanding the strengthening of preservation and conservation of the environment, the State Government of Pahang in Malaysia has issued a legal demand for MYR 1,000,000.00 ( USD239,000 ) and an apology from a vocal environmental activist who has been exposing crimes against the environment for over a decade.

Puan Sri Shariffa Sabrina Syed Akil, that has been heading Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam Malaysia ( The Society For The Preservation of Nature ) - PEKA ( http://www.pekamalaysia.org ) is now being sued by the Pahang State Government in Malaysia for her exposures and her questions that has raised awareness among the people of Malaysia. This is an unreasonable attack through intimidation and an unacceptable act to silence voices of environmental activism !

This petition is just the beginning, to display the sign of solidarity from the citizens of Malaysia and the world who loves nature warriors like Puan Sri Shariffa Sabrina who struggles to defend nature - to rise and reject these types of intimidation tactics.

This must be immediately criticised & protested against as Malaysia is a now member of the Human Rights Council at the United Nations.

It is a huge step backward that is very embarrassing for Malaysians if such high honour and trust in the country at the level of the United Nations is destroyed by the suit brought by the Pahang State Government in Malaysia against an environmental activist. We, the people are also demanding the immediate stop of such theatrics by the authorities and for them to instead begin displaying more attention to the realistic implementation of urgent environmental policies and enforce a moratorium nationwide on the uncontrollable loss of forests throughout Malaysia.
