Doctors and healthcare workers ar dying  in large numbers from Covid 19 infection contracted in their line of duty. They are no less than soldiers dying in battlefield.  Underarmed, under equipped, understaffed and overworked, thier conditions are much worse than a well prepared army. Over 130 doctors and HCWs have died a documented and verified Covid 19 infection death ( as of 22 July). 

 

And everyday more bad news comes in and list grows longer. Thers is  o media hype, no shrill protests by political workers on streets, no chakka jam, no PILs and no litigation. Spouses of these fall warriors shed a silent tear and go on with their lives, unable to knock at the doors of the hogh and mighty to claim their rights for having sacrificed their all. 

No fancy burials, no beating retreats, no shraddanjlis, no national mourning. Are lives of senior HODs, medical scientists, researchers , educationalists and medical policy makers so cheap ?.

The loss of medical personnel to Indian people and society of a precious, scarce resourse is immense and going on silently! 

This petition aims to raise the noise level to this silent hemorrhage,  the enormity of the continual loss of warriors to our nation and to give justice to these Martyrs that their lives were not lost in vain . Their sacrifice will be noted at the highest alter. Their names written with pride in history books and their families adequately compensated adequately. 

Fellow medicos and aware society MUST come forward to achieve what  rightly belongs to these MEDICAL MARTYRS.
