In today’s generation, the use of plastic has been a growing controversy. Marine plastic pollution has been increasing immensely in the past few decades. Single-use plastics(plastic bags and microbeads) are major contributors to the pollution and depletion of our marine environment. We are producing over 300 million tons of plasctic every year. 50% is for single-use purposes which is utilized for just a few moments, but on the planet for atleast several hundred years. More than 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into our ocean every year. Some of these escape from landfill sites, flow in rivers, and end up in the seas.

Experts have found that plastic pollution has made its way to the human food chain. Today, single-use plastics can be found in marine animals’ stomachs and not in dumpsites. I’m asking for your cooperation towards saving our marine environment. This is not just for our own good, but for the whole planet’s future. Think of the world, everybody’s lives and everybody’s needs.
