The people of British Columbia have had enough with our black bears being slaughtered for nothing more than their gallbladders and at times they take their paws. There have been piles of our beautiful black bears found with nothing more than that missing. This is not hunting, this is murder and not ethical treatment. Any B.C. hunter would not do this, we hunt in this province to feed our families. Foreign hunters come here year after year to slaughter for trophies. Over the past 25 years our population of bear seems to be going down on Northern Vancouver Island. You used to be able to view bears feeding all season and now they're gone. Even if numbers are still strong, killing an animal you never intend to eat is wrong. These licences are also given during the season these bears have their babies. You shouldn't be hunting any animal with young, but it's happening. Not only is the mother dying, so are the babies. Please sign to support a change to stop people from killing our beautiful black bears for nothing more than a gallbladder and maybe paw trophies. We need to stop this before our children/grandchildren don't have the pleasures we have. The solution to this problem is simple, if you are a non-Canadian hunter you should be made to produce meat you have processed to eat and account for your tags, before you return to your country. No animal should be killed for parts, it's called poaching. Stiffer laws and regulations need to be enforced on offenders. If you come here and kill bears using your tags but can't produce the meat for consumption, you should be banned from hunting in our country.
