Many European countries treat their livestock with care, rather than stuffing them into small crates, caked in their own feces, until they are old enough to be slaughtered. The workers in these facilities are cruel and sadistic. The livestock should be treated with care, and the facilities should be clean for the safety of, not only the animals, but the humans consuming them, as well. When ready to be slaughtered, the livestock are disposed of in multiple ways. They are either stunned, followed by having their throats cut while pinned to a concrete floor, or the livestock (mainly cows) are forced into a machine that clamps their heads immobile, and flips them upside down to have their throats gashed, only then to be dumped lifelessly onto the floor. Some livestock are even skinned while they are still alive. I am not only concerned for the cruel and violent treatment of the animals, but how clean the meat is that we are ingesting. There must also be an alternative, more humane way of killing the livestock than simply slitting their throats.
