Animal cruelty, also called animal abuse, or animal neglect, is the infliction by omission or by commission by humans of suffering or harm upon any non-human.

The Lychee and Dog Meat Festival, is an annual celebration held in Yulin, Guangxi, China, by the Chinese during the summer solstice in which festival goers eat dog meat and lychees. The festival began in 2009 and spans about ten days during which thousands of dogs are reportedly consumed.

As many as 15,000 dogs are tortured, killed and cooked to be sold at Yulin Lychee and Dog Meat Festival every year. Canine meat is considered a delicacy in China, where about £10m worth of dogs and £4m cats are sold for their meat annually.

Dogs are considered as man's best friend. Inflicting this much pain to an animal that is considered as part of the family is beyond cruel and immoral. The three of us have dogs that grew up with us and helped us during hard times. The thought of killing our best friends bring pain and tears to us, as well. Help us put an end to this violence, and bring justice to such innocent animals.
