Places like https://www.purinamills.com and others are mailing chickens, ducks and other birds through the United States postal service. When a store or a person orders baby chicks, they are being shipped crammed together without any room to move. They ship between 10-40 birds in a small box; not bigger than 2ft by 2ft without any food or water. Sometimes up to 2-3 days in shipment before arriving at a local post office. Majority of the time the chicks arrive dead, broken legs and wings, and sick. This is just plane cruel and inhumane. This should be stopped. Either they need to provide bigger shipping boxes and food or don’t ship at all. People that want chickens and ducks should get from a local breeder! Please sign my petition and help the stop of shipping of chicks to stores and homes.
