Why this petition matters

Started by Susanna Daley

Right now at John Hopkins University, barn owls are being tortured and killed to further the study of attention deficiency disorder (ADD).

Experimenters are cutting into their skulls and implanting metal devices while they are fully conscious. They are forced to be in front of screens for hours and are bombarded with lights and sounds to the point of damaging brain tissue. After they are deemed unusable they are killed. Yet this does nothing to further the study of human attention deficiency disorder (ADD).

I am not an expert, but it is flat out obvious that the brain structure of a human and of an owl is very different. Torturing these poor animals is doing more harm than good for both communities. This is setting the stage of future animal tastings for human issues.

Please help support in any way you can. We must free these animals and bring justice. If we can bring justice to these owls, we can bring justice to all animals being unfairly tested against their will globally.

If you are still not convinced, you can listen to recording of the screams of these birds. As an animal lover it broke my heart to hear. Imagine if that was your dog, cat, or whatever pet you have.

This problem will not be fixed without your help. Share, donate, whatever you can. Go check out PETA.org for more information.
