I've always heard of the quote saying how you wouldn't want to be a guinea pig in a laboratory. I found out what that really meant. Being an animal in a laboratory means that they are stuck alone in a cage, forced to take drugs and test cosmetics that are probably eventually going to lead to their death. If they don't die, they are tested again. I have 2 guinea pigs, and it was sad to learn that most of the animals tested in laboratories (22%) were guinea pigs. Animals are being forced to take drugs and also forced to test cosmetics when they don't have to be tested. Although there are other ways of testing products, people are still testing on animals. They have the choice to use human cells, human tissues, and advanced technology, along with many other ways to test their products, but they continue to test on animals. More than 110 million animals die every year just in US laboratories because of this. 

40 countries around the world have already banned animal testing, and every other country should too. If there is no reason to test on animals, we should stop doing it. People might say medicines and vaccines were discovered with it, but the other methods to invent medicines have proven to be more accurate and less costly. For example, Cruelty Free International has pointed out that a cell based test to find toxic chemicals in a human baby was 100% accurate while the test in a pregnant rat that the laboratory did was only 60% accurate. Animal testing not only harms animals, it is also harming humans because many drugs that are successful with animals kill many humans every year! Hundreds of thousands of people have died from this. Cosmetics and drugs should not be tested on animals when there are better ways to do it. It hurts to see how a lot of animals are dying for a reason they shouldn't be. At this rate, in ten years, more than one billion animals will die because of animal testing! If we ban animal testing, we will save millions of animals every year.
