It’s very upsetting that today I discovered that the Mall of America located in my home state of Minnesota, has now opened a Canada Goose store. Canada Goose is a luxury coat company that participates in the barbaric act of trapping, mishandling, and killing of geese, ducks, and coyotes. The geese and ducks have their feathers plucked off of them and sometimes they are still alive when this happens. Often times when a coyote is in a trap, they will bite off their feet, over exert themselves from trying to escape the torment, or they will simply die from stress and over exertion. Canada Goose uses the coyotes pelt for the trim around the coats, geese and duck feathers are used to fill the coats. These methods are not only cruel, but simply unnecessary and outdated. I ask that we not only bring light to what Canada Goose is doing, but that Mall of America closes the Canada Goose store. If Mall of America doesn’t corporate, we must boycott not only Canada Goose, but also Mall of America as well. It’s time we move past the barbaric ways, and move onto more affordable, and more humane options like faux fur and synthetic materials. Please consider this message, keep an open mind, and have sympathy for what these beautiful animals endure. Thank you.
