Every day people will go to their local pet store to purchase a pet of their choice and walk home with it. It’s as easy as that. Just pick an animal, buy a cage, and pay for it. Unfortunately many ignorant people have no experience with taking care of animals and therefore accidentally abuse them. In addition to those ignorant people, there are people who buy pets to intentionally abuse them. For instance, there are people on social media who video record themselves or others abusing animals for fun. And if you think about it, if there are many people posting videos and pictures supporting animal abuse, there are probably many other people out there who also abuse animals but don’t do it publicly. 

Due to the fact that pet stores don’t have strict rules for preventing pets from going to abusive owners, these abusers will continue to torture animals with no stop. And pet stores should spread awareness to people by showing how to properly provide for their pet and to prevent abusers from taking a new victim home with them.
