Please, sign this petition to make sure ALL animals killed in halal slaughter houses are stunned before being killed.

Killing animals isn’t okay, but killing them the way Muslims and Jews want them killed is unacceptable, disgusting and barbaric.

When an animal gets sent to a halal slaughter house they are fully awake, fully aware and even made to watch other animals killed right in front of them. They then get taken into a holding pen where they can’t move, their heads are secured and then their throats are slit. They are then tipped upside down and die a slow, painful and scary death which can sometimes last up to 2 minutes.

HOW people “believe” killing an animal in this horrific way is even acceptable, is messed up. Saying it’s because of your “religion” doesn’t justify this suffering, in my opinion. When you cook yourself a burger for dinner and eat it, does it taste any better knowing it had bled to death for two minutes before it got on your plate? Or is it nicer to think it’s death was fast and painless? Just because you prayed over this poor, helpless and defenceless animal doesn’t make it okay, it makes no difference the pain and the suffering that poor animal felt.

I respect that everyone has different religious beliefs, but when you are inflicting pain and suffering on to other creatures, that’s where I draw the line. Things need to change, just because we have traditions doesn’t mean they are right in this day and age. We need to step back and realise that some of the things they do are wrong. By all means, pray over the animal while it’s being killed, just please end this suffering.
