Let’s change these animal cruelty laws, Kentucky!

The Issue

There are currently no laws in our great bluegrass state against chaining animals outside. I currently live in my home (that I own with my husband) in Daviess County, KY. We are burdened by a rental home across the road where the tenants leave their beautiful Great Pyrenees on a chain 24/7...no matter the weather conditions. We have reached out to them not only asking if we can take the dog off their hands, but have also offered other means of shelter to give them and they have refused. We’ve reached out to the owners of the residence, family of the tenants, animal control and our county sheriffs department with no results.  No fingers pointed for fault because at the end of the day everyone’s hands are tied (except the dog owners). As a State I feel we have not only failed this precious pet, but all the chained animals not only in Kentucky, but every innocent animal being chained everywhere. No dog should ever have to live a miserable life on a chain outside with no where to run or play or just be loved. Animals are innocent beings and they have no voice except for ours. We MUST get a little reprieve on these very sad animal cruelty laws (which really don’t exist).  Please help in this very hard fight to give a VOICE to our innocent animals who only have us humans to depend on for their wellbeing and safety.
