A cruel couple adopted a 'lovable' dog from an animal shelter - then bludgeoned it to death and cooked it for dinner.  Nika, who had been filmed wagging his tail and licking the twisted couple as they happily petted and adopted him earlier that day, had been mercilessly bludgeoned to death. nauseating images show Nika’s blood splattered in the snow outside the house. There is what appears to be a puddle of urine where the poor dog wet itself as it died in agony.

There is another bucket of what appears tobe browned blood and the fluid from his entrails sat in the corner of the kitchen.

A woman named Galina and her unnamed husband had taken Nika as a pet and promised to give the loving little pup a new home just hours earlier.   

They initially denied that the dog had been butchered, but Galina later admitted it to police.Dog shelter director Irina Savitskaya is demanding the couple be jailed over the disgusting incident involving the dog, who had already had a tough life on the streets before being rescued and nursed by volunteers.

Irina said Galina had gloated after coming clean about the horror she had inflicted on Nika.

“She has admitted that she had butchered the dog and ate it.

“She just says ‘no-one will put me in jail over a dog'”.
