Keep Toothless Home

The Issue

We want to adopt “Toothless” too.........
Almost 3 months ago, my daughter brought home a small, dying kitten. This kitten was burned, malnourished and expected to die. My daughter’s words to me were “Mom, I just don’t want her to die alone”. Throughout the night, we fed her, kept her warm and held her. Miraculously, after many repeats of that first night, she lived. Throughout the next month, we did around-the-clock feedings and bathed her multiple times each day. We picked scabs, applied ointment and held her when she cried in pain. We named her “Toothless” because of her resemblance to the little dragon in the children’s movie. She captured our hearts and became a member of our family. We would love to keep “Toothless” and see her grow and thrive. We feel that our efforts are directly responsible for her survival and that she probably would not be here if not for us. Unfortunately, after pleading to keep her, we have been notified that we must return her to the CASPCA by 5pm on Monday. I have asked for a meeting with the Board Members and hope that they contact me so that I may ask them to allow her to stay with us.

When I first brought her home at six ounces I held her on my chest all night. Sitting there was the only way to quiet her down after she had her burns cleaned. I remember laying there at night listening to her cry and it broke my hear. Being held like that was something that's was comforting for her. So of course she still does it every night she will crawl under your blanket and lay right on my chest! I can not imagine waking up in the morning and her not being there purring as soon as she knows I'm up. I am praying that I never have to find out. No one should have to feel this heartbreak. Please do the right thing here!

The thought of losing her tomorrow is absolutely terrifying! The thought of not having her chase my other cat, or play with your feet under the door, or jump on you while your in the bathroom and don't shut the door. Lol she is a mess but she is my mess that I saved and better yet she is a fighter! This is one more battle kid that you shouldn't have to face because you've been through so much already but we can do this together! I pray that this is resolved and she never has to leave my home where I know why she does what she does and I know her little flaws that pull at your heartstrings like her foot where her nails grow different ways from where she got messed up as a kitten. Me and my family have so much love for her it's unreal!
