In Jordan, stranded animals such as dogs and cats suffer severely from malnutrition, abuse, starvation, and deadly diseases. The reason to this is because the percentage of waste and littering in jordan is very high, a recent study showed that there was 106 tones of waste collected excluding the ones that were not reachable.

Littering negatively affects the environment dramatically. First it harms living things such as animals consuming inedible objects (plastics, carton, etc..). Secondly, littering pollutes water, air, and even soil. How would you feel if you drank water from a lake that smelt badly, and was very foggy? Imagine the things it would do to a thirsty  stomach of an animal that is as big as a cat or dog. 

Unlike some countries where stranded dogs are vaccinated, and food is provided everywhere for several types of animals, in jordan the majority of stranded dogs are abused and cannot find shelter or food, which leads to depression and health diseases this might later cause death. However this is our chance of changing this situation by providing a shelter for them everywhere especially in winter, and also for ending their starvation strike.
