Animals are being mistreated all over the world by humans who think they are superior to other species. This is called speciesism. It is the act of being discriminant towards other species and thinking that it is okay to abuse and kill them for food, materials, and other resources. 

My school located in Fort Pierce has taken action to help stop this act of cruelty. Our motivation is coming from Texas A&M University. They are holding dogs hostage in laboratory cells and are experimenting on these animals for the benefit of human medicine. This causes major health issues such as bone destruction and muscle weakness, and a painful death that is not humane for these animals. The puppies that are born in the laboratory are immediately prepared for experimentation and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has already taken action by allowing people to petition for these animals' lives.
