END PUPPY MILLS/SHUT DOWN PUPPY BOUTIQUE BROOKLYN (PUPPY PETITE) JUSTICE FOR ALL PUPPIES
The Issue
I have purchased a puppy recently. I got an 8week old full breed shitzhu. My boyfriend and I fell in love with him. However the establishment where we had purchased him from was a little sketchy. I was under the impression that I received a healthy male puppy. That was not the case. In fact on the 3rd day of having my baby boy he started throwing up, having diarrea and loss of appetite. We were very concerned. We called the establishment and let them know what was going on, so they recommended a vet to us. We took their word & went to them. Our visit was less than 10 mins. The vet had told us our puppy Kush just had an upset stomach, and prescribed Pepto Bismol. The next day he appeared to be worse, so we went to a different vet where they gave him fluids and charged us for two tests that they couldn’t complete bc they were off the next day (Wednesday). At this point I am overwhelmed and upset bc I felt that all they were concerned about was the money and not the well being of Kush. Finally my boyfriend and I decided to take Kush to the @amcny where they treated him right away and were able to tell me he had Parvo. The meaning of Parvo is a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs. CPV is highly contagious and is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces. MORTALITY can reach 91% in untreated cases. Treatment involves hospitalization. We were devastated, we thought our baby boy was going to die. This whole situation ended up costing close to $5,000. Ultimately the PUPPY BOUTIQUE IN BROOKLYN LOCATED AT 8002 17TH AVE sold us a sick dog. They told us they would cover costs but have yet to do so and due to the Puppy Lemon Law our 14 day time frame has ended. So we are stuck with the bill. Also, someone I work with has purchased a dog recently from that establishment and it turns out that the puppy has GIARDIA which is highly contagious in puppies and can spread to humans. Understand that I am extremely upset and want nothing more than to shut this place down. They continue to sell sick dogs and there are hundreds of people going through what I’m going through, some even worse (death) & to top it all off they make the dogs drink Gatorade! Something must be done. These animals need to be in better care and everyone who is in debt because of medical bills should be compensated. Please help!
