Animal cruelty and abuse has been going on for longer than we can imagine. There are many human beings in this world who cannot imagine an animal being subject to torture, abuse, or ill treatment. However, there are many cold-hearted and ruthless people in this world who do not think twice before hurting an animal. There should be absolutely no excuse to harm these innocent, defenseless, and silent creatures. No one gives us the right to take advantage of them and abuse them.

This petition is specifically aiming towards ending abuse towards Donkeys. As per online sources and articles, it is very clear that donkeys are one of the most poorly treated animals in continents such as Asia and Africa. The videos I’ve seen are far more disturbing and heartbreaking. I want to do something to make a difference for those sweet donkeys and stop people from harming them. I cannot stop people against people in villages or poverty areas using donkeys as transportation or carrying items. People will continue to justify why donkeys are allowed to be used for certain tasks so there is less I can do about that. However, I can speak out against people who are abusing donkeys or keeping them in bad conditions. I want to stand up for them because I haven’t seen much being done for them in particular areas of the world. There is not much people talking about supporting donkeys and banning the abuse. We can’t allow these donkeys to keep suffering in silence and suppress the abuse. One of the most heartbreaking headlines I’ve come across recently was about donkey abuse in Santorini, Greece. It was said that donkeys were being overly used as taxi’s for tourists without any regard to their physical well-being. Not only do I want no one to ever harm a donkey again, I also want people to be more compassionate toward them and not mistreat them till they are aching in pain. I also encourage people to not take part in this whole “donkey rides” nonsense. Please don’t be a part of it. 

Aside from the petition, I would try to do my very best in contacting government authorities in countries such as Ethopia and urge them to enforce ethical treatment towards Donkeys. Hearing about so much animal cruelty around the world has made me become very depressed and helpless for the longest time. I couldn’t stand the thought of an animal being hurt. Unfortunately, I’ve come to realize that humans are capable of doing such unspeakable and horrendous things to animals. I cannot stay silent anymore and I urge all of you to sign this petition. I hope PETA will also come across the petition and give their full support. I am aware that they are already doing investigations into this horrible abuse towards donkeys and they have posted a few videos on YouTube as well. This is my first step into making a difference in a donkeys life. I wasn’t able to tag any officials in countries where the donkeys are being most abused.

Please everyone do not ignore the petition. I know a lot of you have very soft spots for animals and would do whatever in your power to help them. A lot of us feel helpless when we hear or see videos of horrible things happening to animals. The best we can do is take measures into preventing more of these brutal actions towards all animals not just donkeys. I urge you all to do your research on donkey abuse in certain countries, watch videos and please write letters to government officials in countries where donkeys are the most affected. Those countries include but are not limited to Egypt, Ethiopia, Uganda, India,  and etc. Signing this petition would be the first step in creating a movement towards ending donkey abuse. If we show certain countries that we fight till the end to stop donkey abuse then hopefully they will enforce stricter laws. Also, it would be a big plus if all of you spare some time and write an email to a government official in the countries listed above. Thank you all so very much.
