We are told it’s necessary, unavoidable for our own safety! But is it? Worldwide, nearly half a million rabbits and other animals are blinded, poised and killed each year to test new cosmetic products and their ingredients. Nearly 40 countries have already banned animal testing  for cosmetics. 73% Americans & 88% Canadians are opposed to animal testing for cosmetics according to Lush cosmetics North America. Animal abuse is a topic that many people have not discussed and it should be addressed. With animal abuse it also comes with messing up animals mental health as yelling is noted to mess up a dog's anger tolerance. About 70% of animals are most likely to come from domestic homes.

Most of us have at least had a pet or wanted one so we can love and cherish it. I have a dog named Rocket and I love him so much, he is my best friend and I would never want to see him in trouble. Imagining another dog not being loved and being beaten is such a horrible thought. In the streets there are dogs who are walking with burnt legs and missing body parts. These poor helpless animals will be crying with broken hearts because they want love. They have feelings just like us, they are our best friends and we should give them love. An example of this is an incident that had happened at BarknB*tches where a woman threw a dog by her/his neck and had fallen head first. The dog had went under a bench crying from pain. Now imagine company products we use an a daily basis such as M•A•C cosmetics, Clorox, Maybelline, Tide, Victoria’s Secret, Dove & etc using animals to test their dangerous, harmful products on our beloved animals. It’s cruel and unnecessary. There are so many companies that have gone Vegan Free and have found other ways to test their products without harming animals. why can’t these companies do the same? These poor animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice & hamsters, while dogs and monkeys are used to test on other products that are not cosmetic but still are used on dangerous chemicals. Experimenting on animals is always unacceptable because it causes pure pain& suffering to poor innocent animals.

People are already making programs and organizations. Examples of these are ASPCA, PETA, and local shelters that help dogs become adopted and not bought by fancy shops. In schools there are many animal awareness clubs, what these groups do is make sure to gather dogs that are being beaten and abused to right families that will love and adore them for sure. But, the people who are committing these heinous crimes are not being punished. These people should be in jail and animal abuse should be considered a VERY serious crime. Please help these organizations help all the poor animals in need of a loving home. In order for this to stop we all need to contribute in any way possible.
