The Issue
National Toxicology Program
The National Toxicology Program provides programs, policies, and activities with a scientific basis. They research to improve and discover new technologies for molecular biology, and modern toxicology. The NTP also informs us about their toxicological information about dangerous substances in our environment. They have already discovered more than 2,800 environmental substances for our health effects. In other words, the National Toxicology Program studies the toxicology of our homes, diets, jobs, hobbies, and our air.
Animal Experimentation
Even though the National Toxicology Program helps our environment by discovering and studying the hazardous substances around us, during the process of this they use animals for these experiments. Of Course there have been many petitions to stop this and most of them got denied, hopefully, this one doesn't. The NTP uses 100 different strains of mice for their experiments. Using mice for their experiments that are supposed to prevent humans from health problems is pointless because mice rarely are applicable to humans. Meaning that if a substance is harmless to mice it can still be hazardous to us as humans. The National Toxicology Program continues to use numerous innocent mice to experiment on but many of their lives are just wasted because of how mice results won't be applicable to human results.
Animal Abuse
It shouldn't be right for these huge programs to use these innocent animals, and hurt them and put them through who knows what. Who knows if these animals have souls or feelings we shouldn't do this to them if we wouldn't want these things done to us, such as shots into the eye, burning, cutting, and doing many other harmful and painful things to them. Many animals do get rescues every once in a while from these tortuous programs and laboratories but that shouldn't give us hope because they are still more than a thousand other animals of various species. The big corporations, programs, and laboratories that use animals for their experiments can instead use computer simulations. Yes, they are way more expensive but the life of an animal shall still be way more important than money.
Computer Simulations
Animal testing is very common in most places and for the most part, the results sometimes come out to be correct and very helpful. Then again there are some side effects that can occur in the human because of the simple fact that humans and animals are not alike. To help with that problem we should have replacements of computers instead of living animals. Ever since 1960, the heart simulation has been improving on and is now ready to be used. The computer will and can be very expensive but you'll save plenty of money because you won't need to spend thousands of dollars each year like you would if you tested on animals. They would only need a couple of sets of these computer simulations and won't have to spend much money after they do. Since many of these big programs don't use computers and use animals instead then they spend so much money every year restocking on animals. Even if the program doesn't worry about money or need to worry about money they should switch to computer simulations.
