Adopt a No-Kill Policy by Moving Funds to their Shelters.

Jillian Hacker, the monthly giving program adviser for PETA, has written to us about the news articles claiming that PETA kills over 85% of their sheltered animals As it turns out after doing some research, the company that says that PETA kills more than half of their animals is connected to KFC, a rival company of PETA. You can read the entire letter Ms. Hacker sent to us in this article.

The letter was helpful in showing us that PETA does NOT kill over 85% of their animals a year, but none the less, PETA does still support euthanasia. We at E.C.O believe that PETA has an opportunity to adopt a no-kill policy for their shelters if the proper funding gets moved around. We urge PETA to stop wasting donors money on advertisements that will inevitably be banned. Instead we ask that they focus our money on building bigger and more advanced shelters, preferably the type of shelter that would have no need to kill their animals. Although PETA claims that this idea would not work, other organizations and shelters have already successfully adopted the no-kill policy, including The Humane Society, who even claimed that adoption rates have been on the rise since then.

While we at ECO will continue our monthly donations to PETA in order to support their campaigns in fighting for animals rights, we will continue to fight against their policy on euthanasia. Please join us.

Thank you.
